Stempulse ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the Stempulse mobile app collects, how it is used, and your rights.
1. Who We Are
Stempulse is a smart plant care application. For privacy enquiries, contact us at hello@stempulse.co.uk.
2. Data We Collect
Email address — collected when you sign in via Google. Used solely for authentication.
Photos / Camera — images you take or select are sent to our AI service to identify your plant. Images are not stored on our servers after identification is complete.
Approximate location — your device's GPS coordinates are used locally to calculate local sunrise and sunset times for the garden scene display. Location data is never transmitted to our servers or stored.
Device identifiers — a unique API key is used to pair your Stempulse sensor device to your account. This is stored securely in our database.
Sensor readings — soil moisture, temperature, humidity, and light data transmitted by your hardware device are stored in our database and used to provide plant health analytics.

4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Data is shared only with:
Supabase — our backend database and authentication provider (EU data residency available).
Google Sign-In — for authentication only; we receive only your email address.
AI plant identification service — photos are sent for processing and are not retained.
Google Play — in-app purchase transactions are processed by Google; we do not see your payment details.
5. Data Retention
Your sensor data and account information are retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by emailing hello@stempulse.co.uk.
6. Your Rights (UK GDPR)
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@stempulse.co.uk.
7. Children
Stempulse is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Sensor data and account information are stored in a secured database with role-based access control.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or by email. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
